Update on Dito

Hi all, I assume by now you are all aware of the last 48 hours with Dito's health so I'll cut right to the most updated news we have as of 7:30. At this point the medically induced paralysis has been removed and Dito's body temperature has been brought back to a normal temp. After all of this they have not seen any neurological brain activity whatsoever. This comes as a blow because we were really hoping that once all of the initial procedures done were lifted he would be able to regain consciousness and have some normal brain activity. Unfortunately that is not the case. Ron and Cleo are choosing to wait until noon tomorrow to make a final decision on the next step (It was Dito's request that he not be left brain dead if he ever were to reach this condition). At this point there is nothing medically they can do for him. As for us, all we can do is pray that if this is not Dito's time God will intervene and give us some more time with Dito. If not, we need to pray for peace for friends and family, and understanding as we prepare to say goodbye to a dear friend. I am communicating with Natalie, Karla, and Jaylene Henderson who are all making trips to the hospital and getting updates from Ron and Cleo, and I will pass along what I do know as soon as I know it. Please pray. I will send updates as soon as I get them. Much Love, -Russ

Where you Been?!

Wow, the last update was from our trip to Philly. That was in June! YIKES! I go back and forth about the blog. I think something I need to come to terms with is that I dont need to give this thing a twitter-like updating. I feel this self-induced pressure to update here often, but I also realize that this could be an every other day or so thing and be OK with that. But then I wonder if its an every once in a while thing will people lose all interest and forget about it all together? Who knows. I think Im going to take the advice of a good friend and move forward with getting back to the blog. There is some fun stuff going on in my life, so let's see if I can get this back up and running. Stick with me friends, stay patient, and I promise to deliver. But if I dont update every day, maybe I need a name change for the domain...

Xbox-inspired shoes do nothing, cost $2,500 - plugged in - Yahoo! Games

Man, its a good thing our economy isnt in ruin. Otherwise, things like this would tell the world that even when 5 million people dont have jobs, we still know how to spend $2500 on shoes....

Too much goin on

Man, it seems like every time something great happens, I think to myself "put this on the blog later" and it never happens. It Sooooo frustrating, cause I wanna connect with my people, and I keep neglecting you! Im sorry! I hope you can forgive me and we can move on. Well Im going to move on, I hope you'll join me.

There's too much to bring into all this, so Im just going to jump in. Last weeks Saturday Night Live: WHOOOOOAAAAAAAA!. Its is seriously the best one I have seen in a loooong time. Justin Timberlake hosted for the third time and I have to say this is by far his best one yet! Almost every single sketch was funny, very funny. He brought back some classic characters he does, and even showed off some new ones. here are a few of my favorites

New Target Sketch with new character "Classic Peg"

This one is called Immigrant Tale and is just full of funny predictions

They removed a video called Plasticville, and I cannot find it! It is a MUST see, if anyone finds it, let me know

and last but not least, is the digital short. For those of you who may not know, there was a song Justin did the last time he was on with Andy Sandberg called "d*ck in a box". It was absolutely hilarious, and even won a grammy! If you havent seen it, its here: if youve seen D in a B, then move on.

as if you couldnt pee your pants any more, they come out with another song by 2:30AM (the name of their duo) its called motherlover, and it is here

first, youre welcome! This stuff is beyond funny. I could watch it over and over! I really am continually impressed by the stuff they do, and I think this episode really brought that out. People always talk about how SNL isnt funny anymore, and I think these things show that they indeed are very funny.

Well its late, so I will call this a rap. Lots more to talk about, stay tuned, and I will do my best not to neglect!

A lot goin on.

Man, I should NOT wait this long to update! Too much has been going on for me to give it all its proper attention without writing a novel. I guess I should start chronologically.

Indians Game
Last Friday, I had the chance to go the home opener at Progressive Field, or the Jake for those of you who dont want to join the corporate sellout! Anyway, it was very exciting to be there during the first home opening game. Then the rain came, and it kept coming. There ended up being a 3:42 rain delay. Thats hours:minutes not minutes:seconds by the way. This is how long the delay was: we waited nearly two hours, left, drove from Cleveland to Mt. Vernon, ran a couple of errands in MV, got home, unpacked, and the game had just started back up. Crazy! They lost, it wasnt too fun to watch from home knowing you have tickets to the game. But it was still a great thing to be a part of. Now, I just need to be at an opening day game, and I think my life will be complete.

Fantasy Baseball
I have joined a fantasy baseball league for the first time, ever. I know this is weird, but I have never done a fantasy sport. So this is all very foreign to me. I am still grasping the idea of points, trading, adding/dropping, etc. And naturally Im in last place, and will most likely stay there the entire season. But baseball is a long season, so we will see what happens. If you have any tips on who is hot and who is not, please let me know, because I typically do not follow anyone besides the Indians, and usually the other teams in the AL Central. So help a brotha out!

Real Housewives of New Jersey
S
o my wife pointed out to me, that Bravo is doing another real housewives, this time with some ladies from New Jersey. Normally, this would only make me desire to lose my food, but Jersey? Ohhhhh! I am an AVID fan of The Sopranos. I have all episodes on DVD, and usually watch the reruns on A&E. Although edited, they are still The Sopranos. So when I heard this show would be in Jersey, naturally my curiosity piqued. So my wife and I have been going back and forth on if these girls are mob-related. My initial thought was no mobster would want that much attention. Their life is a life of secrecy, they dont even admit the mafia exists (Tony is season one: "There is no Mafia!"). So upon doing some more thinking and dialogue, I thought maybe if the money was good enough from Bravo, and everyone got their piece, perhaps they would. The mob of today is definitely not the mob of 30, 20, even 10 years ago. The talk is they are crumbling to an almost non-existence. So, perhaps they have to get where it gives so to speak. So, feel free to share your thoughts on if you think any of these ladies are mob-related. I did ready that two of the girls share a relative who was definitely shot by the mob back in the 80's. So who knows if those ties are really gone. Again, feel free to share your thoughts.

I think this will be all for now, I have more, but I will hold it. Hopefully not for too long this time!

Im Trying!

OK, well there is a lot I want to update you all on, but I have no time! Im running a pretty tight schedule this week, due to the fact I have to be off on Friday for the Indians home opener! Thats right this one has tickets to the game on Friday! Its currently 2:30 and I have to be back in at 11:00 AM, so this is all for now. But very soon I want to talk about the following:
-Indians
-Fantasy Baseball
-The Real Housewives of New Jersey and its similarities to The Sopranos
-A couple of good friends whose father is currently in the hospital and needs immediate prayer (his name is Terry, please being praying for his recovery from a severe heart attack)
-New Music I've been listening to

So sooner or later, I will be talking to you all about these things. Hold tight and we'll talk soon!

Ogre Milk!

So, I just spent two hours playing Rockband with Jackie, and we had a blast! Not only did we open a ton of stuff in my new band, Ogre Milk, we also now have Jackie as an official band member, and have very conveniently coordinated our outfits. At first, that may sound kind of stupid. But trust me we look fly fresh to def! For proof, look here!

Now I realize how fly this looks, and how you will probably want to make this computer desktop wallpaper, so I will give you the link to standard size here, and wide screen here. Please enjoy. And also, were thinking maybe Ogre Milk isn't the friendliest of band names, so were open to new names. Feel free to submit! Enjoy!

You Gots No Organization

So I have been coming to realize that my life is actually pretty unorganized. Since in the past I had usually been a pretty organized guy, I guess it took me a while to notice that things were different. There used to be days, mainly in college, where my entire day was mapped out, blocks of time accounted for, tasks, to-do lists, the whole nine. I was in love with my Palm Pilot, and it with me. We had a great relationship. Once I got rid of that, I guess I stopped paying attention and things got out of hand. Now I feel like I go huge amounts of time and cant really account for hours. So I have realized I need to start getting organized. Planning my workouts so they happen. Scheduling myself to do things that need done so I don't push them off and loaf around instead.

So I'm making a direct attempt to start becoming organized again. My phone won’t do the trick, so until I upgrade in July (got my eye on the Blackberry Storm, but not sure because Jackie has the Pearl and I HATE IT!), I think I'm going to try and use Windows Calendar. I seems to be as close to the out Outlook I used to use. Or I guess I could use the new Outlook I have. Any suggestions on programs are welcomed.

Well I am going to also attempt to get up in a few short hours to be productive with my mornings. I have been feeling bogged down lately by sleeping in and not getting the most out of my day. I was very successful at this on Saturday. I got up at 8am, worked out for an hour, caught up on some TV while I worked out, took the trash out, caught up online, and had some cereal, all before 10, which is my normal wake up time! So, if you know me, you know I am NOT a morning person, but I am going to attempt to change that. We’ll see how it goes. Feel free to check facebook or twitter to see if I succeeded!

Tuesday is my day off, and although I will be busy, it is a great day to catch up with me. So if you have a sec. give me a call!

Long Day, but good day

Had a great day today! I DID get up early like I wanted, was very productive and had a blast! I do need to get to bed, I've gotta be at work at 6am, but I reccomend checking my Twitter posts to the right ----> and also check facebook for the happenings of the day. Enjoy!

What is in the water in this country?!

I do not understand the hypersensitivity in this nation. I will never be able to wrap my brain around how people can get so bent out of shape and so uncomfortable over the simplest, smallest things. Things that do not warrant attention ( I would call them non-issues). Things that are factual pieces of information and nothing more. In fact, when I was unemployed I starting doing research on such a topic. I wanted to write an entire book on the over sensitivity in America and why it needs to stop. I still think I could do this if I really put my mind to it. You would not BELIEVE the stuff I found while doing research. It literally makes you want to smack people in the face. So any time I see such an incident occur, you know it gets me revved up. A while back, I saw a video on facebook of this kid who had just come out of Anesthesia from a dentist visit. And his dad tapes his conversation with him in the car. FUNNIEST THING I have seen in a LONG time! Its right here:

Anyway, so I log into MSN tonight and find this article . I cant even tell you how fired up this gets me! How can people even twist this video into something so perverse that some moron has the audacity to say Children's Services should look into these parents?!?!? RIDICULOUS! I could go on for pages about how silly and petty this is, and how this is a perfect example of how stupid Americans overreact to nearly everything. The video is funny, no one got hurt, it wasn't child abuse. THE END. Oh man I cant even tell you how angry this is making me. Just let people be people already! Anyway, Ive emailed this video the the Ellen show several times for her Ellen's funniest web videos bit she does. No luck yet, but these parents were just on the Today show, so maybe that will grab her attention and she'll show it, cause it is funny! So enjoy, get angry, then get over it. Good advice from Colin Powell.
And is Michael Scott really, actually quitting? And did Pam seriously go with him? Who else is waiting for the "just kidding" line?!??

After typing up a quick little post I realized it wasnt very entertaining at all. Pretty boring to be quite frank. So let me end by saying, I had a busy day. Got lots done. The paint is still drying, so maybe I'll have pics to show you of the Dining Room by Saturday. Lastly, please enjoy this video, it is GREAT!

It's Just a Sweet Sweet Fantast Baby...

In the history of my life, I have never participated in fantasy sports. Mainly because I am a casual spectator and do not know enough to make it worth my while, especially in paid leagues. The only team I can honestly say I know a lot about is the Indians, so when a friend of mine invite me to join his fantasy baseball league, I gladly obliged. Now I know nothing about fantasy sports, so I'm a little in the dark about how this is going to work. I know we have an auto draft, which will probably save me a little more embarrassment than Im ready to handle. So I'm putting it out there that if you have any tips on being a good fantasy coach, please send them to me! I plan on doing some reading on it, but the more the merrier!
Other than that, not much going on. Im starting in a new Bible study tonight. We are doing a book by Max Lucado that takes you through Romans. I am about to start my first reading, so we'll see how it goes. It's been a minute since I have been in a small group like this, so I am hoping to get some good stuff out of it. We'll see!

Enjoy!

Manic Monday

Well good morning faithful readers. Hope everyone had a good weekend. We had a funny trip to Lowes on Saturday. We went to price a fence for our backyard and ended up getting materials to paint the Dining Room and add a chair rail! Crazy! So, when the project is done (approx. Tuesday night) I will share some pics for you to enjoy. That little project really engulfed the weekend for us. It was fun, because when we moved in there wasnt really anything to do here. The house was move-in ready and then some. So this was fun.
Not too much else to share this AM. Im enjoying a good cup of coffee and catching up on shows I've dvr'd. Anyone started watching Kings? I have 2 episodes Im about to start, just wondered people's thoughts on it.
A few things to leave you with. Here is a topic that can get all of our minds thinking : Choose Responsibility . He was on The Colbert Report talking about this, so I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on it. I think its a topic I can definitely see both sides of the issue. And lastly, here is a perfect example of the power of editing. By the way, this is an AWESOME example of the power of editing!!

Spent

I had full intentions of writing tonight, but I am absolutely exhausted. My Sundays consist of working 6-3, coming home, eating, showering, getting ready and heading to Coshocton (45min) for choir rehearsal, and usually being home by 9 or 9:30. So yeah, its a long day. Side note, if you ever wanna catch up, I am always on the road for an hour and a half driving to and fro, so please feel free to call me. There is a small blackout area where I lose service for about two minutes, but otherwise, its all good. Having said that, I had some things to share, but I will wait till tomorrow, a good night's sleep awaits me. Until then friends.

Well Here we go, here we go, here we go again.

OK see here's the thing. I had a blog, it used to be at wordpress. It wasn't horrible. It got really popular when the election was going on, because I was choosing to openly discuss hot topics. It was fun, but I found myself having to defend myself more often than not. In one instance I even had a not so fun convo on facebook with a friend who I'm pretty sure wanted to argue for the sake of arguing. That's when I knew I was done. It had become a monster I did not want it to become. Then people stopped showing up, I stopped writing, and here we are. Starting anew, refreshed, and hopefully ready for a better, longer journey. Not to sound like an elitist, but I'm tempted to do this blog as an invite only kind of thing. Not that people wont find out about it, but I used to promote the crap out of the old blog, and I'm feeling like that may have bit me in the butt in the end. So I guess what I mean, is this is really going to be more low profile. I may go into things that are a little more personal, and intimate, and for those reasons I may just keep this between us. Now I am not oblivious to the fact that this is on the Internet which means anyone and everyone can read it. But I think it will take some effort to find this if you don't know its here. Who knows, I may scratch that whole idea and shamelessly plug this one too.
Be warned: I tend to be long-winded. I tend to take many tangents. I tend to sometimes go all over the place conversationally. So you may love that, or you may hate it. But you cant say you didn't know...
I just want a place to share life with you, my friends. A place where when I see a funny video, or read an interesting story, or, as it so often happens, hear a song I must not keep to myself, I want a place to share it with people. I am hoping this will be the place. I can tell you I will probably not update this every day. Then again I might. But history tells me I wont. Again, you have been warned.
I think I have a lot of cool and interesting things to say. I like discussing intellectual, and classy things. On the other hand, I love debating who is the best hip-hop artist of the moment. I like using big words, like facetious (google it, it makes you sound smart when you use it properly). So, strap in and hold on, it's going to be a bumpy ride. But as I have said you cant say I didn't warn you.
